| | I have an idea. Me being part of a band here in Puerto Rico well we don't have many opcions so we can promote our bands. The only bands down here that get known are bands with male frontmen. We are pretty much limited to forums from latin american countrys. I think it would be very beneficial for your forum and for female bands in latin america if you had a part of a section or whatever to promote latin american bands and stuff. That way not only will we able to show our bands to a bigger audience but you guys could see and learn about our music. I dunno...Its just an idea. :)...Even if you don't like the idea, thanks for reading anyways. :) |

| My prediction is that this will never happen. Think of the chaos that might ensue...
For example, let's assume that you were to change your name from 'Edelsbacher' to something else, then someone else takes 'Edelsbacher' and starts acting like a jerk. Problem is, everyone still thinks it's you. So, you decide you want your old name back, but find that you can't change it back because it's already taken. |

It was allowed and then a member did change their username and it confused the hell out of me, and it made me think that people will do that as much as they change their signatures and avatars and just confuse the hell out of everyone every damn day just for the fun of it, but i see no fun in that

In addition to the work involved in setting up the page initially, this change would make it more difficult to re-alphabetize the list if necessary because at least three columns of data would be involved instead of just the band names. Also, bands generally don't like genre labels and have been known to provide inconsistent genre information about themselves, and also to change that information with surprising frequency. Finally, with some bands you can get into trouble using the 'country' label because ethnicity and nationality are not always the same thing. So, while in a perfect world this clearly would be a great idea, in actual practice I think it might be problematic. |
